Getting Started

Once the coach has assembled a team, the coach must fill out a roster form and send it to the Portage Soccer Club registrar.

Prior to the opening season, he/she should schedule a meeting to discuss practices, coaching phylosophy, etc., and to gather information form players and parents. If you have not selected a manger, the meeting is a nice place to ask for a volunteer for this position.

Game Preparation

Please call the referee of your upcoming home game at least one day before the game is scheduled and give them your name, phone number and the field that the game will be played on. To see the referees assigned your games, and a listing of referees names and phone numbers so you can contact them to confirm time and location of your next game, use the Arbiter system. Team managers and coaches can obtain access to the system from the WMSRA assignor, Wayne Wilkinson, as described on the referee page.

Tournament Information

For state tournament listings go to the MSYSA tournaments page.

For an example of how to fill out a tournament application click here .

After collecting money from parents for tournaments, please drop off checks to the treasurer when turning in applications.
Hint: It is best to collect all the tournament money all at once and add a little extra for other fees such as Permission to Travel applications, although effective fall 2010, the Notification to Travel form is available at no cost. MSYSA is changing its procedure effective September 1st for teams traveling to out of state USYSA sanctioned tournaments. Previously it required a Permission to Travel form which cost $50. It now requires a Notification to Travel form with no fee. The form can be accessed and completed on line at www.gotsoccer.com and then printed and taken to the tournament. To access your gotsoccer team account you will need your team user name and password. If you don't have that information, the PSC Registrar can provide it.
