OPEN BOARD POSITIONS

Board meetings are monthly, the 1st Sunday of each month, at 7:00 p.m and typically last 1-2 hours. All meetings are held at the offices of Cornerstone Construction Management in Portage. In addition to monthly meetings, each board position requires extra time each month to fulfill that position's job expectations.

CONCESSIONS DIRECTOR

The Concessions Director is responsible for the operation of the concession stand. This includes maintaining a ServSafe Certification and ServSafe Allergens Certificate as well as organizing and overseeing the annual health inspection. Additionally, they manage the finances, maintain the inventory, and oversee the volunteers. The Concessions Director is a voting member of the Board of Directors and is expected to attend monthly board meetings.

FUNDRAISING DIRECTOR

The Fundraising Director is responsible for identifying and developing a fundraising action plan, including, but not limited to: planning, executing, and evaluating the financial impact on the club. The Fundraising Director will work with the treasurer to keep records relating to incoming and outgoing funds which are directly related to fundraising monies. The Fundraising Director is a voting member of the Board of Directors. The Fundraising Director is expected to attend monthly board meetings in order to provide monthly, quarterly and/or yearly updates to the board regarding fundraising duties and events.

DIRECTOR OF PLAYER DEVELOPMENT

The Director of Player Development (DPD) is responsible for continuing and upholding Portage Soccer Club’s methodology, including, but not limited to: giving all players an opportunity to enjoy soccer, and creating an environment of open communication between club coaches and the DPD. The DPD has a general focus on overall club player development inclusive of all age groups but maintains a highly specific focus on the U8 Academy and the U9 through U12 7-aside and 9-aside are groups. The DPD is highly involved with the Academy including training and play. Finally, the DPD organizes coaching clinics to assist the club's coaches. A USSF D license is preferred but USSF Grassroots 7 v 7 and 9 v 9 certification (or 12–18 month plan to secure both is required).
